General Question

What is the difference between an inverter and a non-inverter air-conditioner?
Non-inverter air-conditioners are also known as conventional air-conditioners. The system’s compressor is run at a fixed speed and only can control the temperature by either starting or stopping the compressor. The system always runs at full capacity. Therefore, it is low energy-efficient and consumes a high electricity rate.

Inverter type air-conditioner is a kind of energy-efficient air-conditioner. The unit initially startup at a low speed. Hence, less power is consumed. The unit changes the type of power used, controls the compressor speed and changes the temperature as required. Therefore, it limits energy consumption. It is concluded that the inverter air-conditioner is energy-saving and environmentally friendly.

Can I switch on the air-conditioner without using a remote controller?
Yes. The air-conditioner can be switched on by pressing the “ON/OFF” button on the indoor unit. However, without using the remote control, the fan mode and operation mode is in “automatic” mode.

How often should I service my air-conditioners?
The time frame of cleaning or servicing an air-conditioner may vary from unit to unit. The main consideration of the cleaning time frame might depend on the usage rate and the unit’s located environment.

We recommended basic service once every 3 months inclusive of cleaning filters, water tray, drain pan and blowers.

Chemical service is recommended at least half-yearly once to fully clean the unit inclusive of removing dust and odours, cleaning water outlet piping and cleaning both indoor and outdoor cooling coil.

Possible that I clean the air-conditioner on my own?
Yes. However, it is only recommended for basic cleaning of the unit’s filters.

Professional technical support is recommended to avoid an unwilling accident as the unit is a high electricity consumption appliance. Besides, it is also to avoid unwilling damages to happen.

How often should I clean the air filters?
It is recommended that the air filters should be cleaned every 2 weeks or at least not more than a month.

To gently spray the filters with water. For heavy soiling, it is recommended to clean the filters gently with a neutral detergent diluted with water. The air filters should dry in a shady place to avoid easily cracking.
